Offered for sale is a 1953 "Zwitter" Split window Sunroof 3 fold Beetle. This 1953 Beetle is Rare 11-G Deluxe Sunroof model car with a split rear window, oval window style dash W/zwitter ash tray, and large 3 fold cloth sunroof.
This car has a 1953 Pan Built on September 19, 1953. Not # matching.
This 1953 has just undergone a complete restoration including, 1955 36 HP motor not # matching, OG factory motor, motor under 1000 Miles on motor/transmission now. Paint Color L-11 Pastel Green -
The chassis has new pan halves (Wolfsburg west) and painted black. The complete brake system has been rebuilt & turn original drums,All rims have been powder coated white, & two tone L-11 Pastel green & fitted with Michelin Tires. 145 front 165 rear, The transaxle has been rebuilt by Benco to factory spec. (no paint)
All the engine tins have been powder coated 70/30 gloss like original. The engine is a period correct.
The beautiful herring bone Material (German) from West Coast Classic Restorations interior, has been fitted over restored seat frames with all new padding. A wool mohair headliner and Germany oatmeal square weave carpet, The Haartz canvas sunroof cover is taunt and interior headliner is flawless.
Under the front hood, there is the small neck gas tank, spare tire with replica VW tool kit. A new original style wiring harness 6Volt was installed W/starter button and ignition. SWF Ribbed Semaphores (blinking) heart taillights. The Rib trim stainless steel
The body was very solid to start with. All work was photo documented and is very high quality. The paint was done with base coat & 1.5 gal clear coat.100% of the car being painted.... It is as nice underneath as it is on top.
