This VW Sedan was purchased new in 1967 by a friend’s grandmother. It came to California in 1970 and was passed down through several family drivers in the ensuing years. I purchased it from him in late 2021. He had lots of work performed on the car just prior to my purchase. This included a recent rebuild of the original 1500cc engine and a new clutch, electronic ignition, new stock wheels, new brakes, new shocks and new tires. It is equipped with the coveted Freeway Flyer transaxle. I spent many dozens of hours taking the car a step up from there. I took the doors apart and replaced all the felts, runners and seals. I installed new interior panels. I repainted the dash and the interior surfaces to match the outer paint. New weather stripping was installed in the doors and both hood areas. I installed a carpet kit and a new headliner with roof insulation. I also added new tie rods, spindles and bushings for the front end. The car starts, shifts and drives like new. Though it is not a show quality car, it is very presentable and it will turn heads wherever you take it. Included are the following: The car has the one-year-only Sapphire radio, which was professionally rebuilt and works perfectly. It also has the very rare, one year only and hard to find, restored lobster claw seat belts. Being a California car, it is mostly free of rust issues. Included in the sale are spare parts and two motor manuals. The car came from the German factory with the optional rear pop-out windows. These work perfectly. The luggage rack on the rear was restored with new oak runners. This adds a distinctive and practical aspect to the car. For 1967, VW upgraded a long list of features. They changed out the old six volt system to twelve volt with more wattage and cranking power, making these cars quick starting and far more reliable than their predecessors. They added sealed beam headlights, emergency flashers, rear back up lights and slightly larger windows, among other things. The 1967 VW Beetle represents the high mark of the Type I Volkswagen Bug and this is why it is sought after by collectors. VW Bug, Beetle, Sedan, Vintage, Collector Car
